The Future Batteries Industry CRC (Co-operative Research Centre) will undertake a five-year, industry-led, research and development program. The aim is to expand battery minerals and chemicals production, develop opportunities for specialist battery manufacture; support battery deployment and optimise the circular economy for the use and re-use of battery systems. The project is estimated to deliver a $2.5 billion benefit to the Australian economy over the next 15 years. The University of Melbourne joins the research partnership of 57 industry, academic and government partners to address industry-identified gaps in the battery industries value chain. Our group is providing leadership to the CRC’s Program 1: Battery Industry Development.
