Thesis Title
Autoignition Behaviour of Ammonia/Hydrogen Binary Fuel
Research overview
Ammonia is a potential fuel for decarbonising the transport sector. However, its unfavourable combustion characteristics demand blending with other fuels such as hydrogen. This PhD investigates the autoignition chemistry of ammonia/hydrogen mixtures using fundamental experiments and chemical kinetic simulations with a target to develop a comprehensive combustion chemistry model for ammonia fuels. This research is part of the joint PhD program of University of Melbourne and Shanghai Jiao Tong University where UoM is the host institution.
