Thesis Title

Experiment and simulation of hydrogen combustion chemistry in a high-pressure turbulent flow reactor

Research overview

Hydrogen combustion chemistry is the core of essentially all combustion processes. This PhD investigates hydrogen oxidation in a high-pressure turbulent flow reactor. Effect of pressure, temperature, equivalence ratio and perturbation of nitric oxide is studied. The flow reactor data, combined with the literature data in various types of reactors, are used to develop a comprehensive hydrogen combustion model. A global method is used in the process for uncertainty quantification and model optimization.
