Thesis Title
Empirical Surface Pressure Spectrum Modelling for Airfoil Trailing Edge Noise Prediction at varying Mach numbers
Research overview
The research involves physical understanding of flow over controlled diffusion airfoil at various Mach number. The focus of the research is on the surface pressure spectrum variation and its dependence on the boundary layer parameters. Further, using the time-averaged boundary layer parameters, a new empirical model is developed which is valid for a wider range of parameters. The evolutionary algorithm, Gene Expression Programming is used for this purpose. Finally, crossflow is introduced to study the effects on the hydrodynamic and acoustics characteristics, with the main focus on variation of the surface pressure spectrum.
