Numerical Study on the Cylindrical Gravity Current in a Stratified Ambient
Research overview
Gravity current in a stratified ambient is common in oceans, estuaries and the atmosphere. Gravity current in a stratified ambient contains internal gravity waves and may affect the propagation of the gravity current. The present study aims to investigate the dynamics and mixing and entrainment of the gravity current in a stratified ambient. The effects of the internal gravity wave on the propagation of the gravity current will be determined and the energy budget of the gravity current will be evaluated.
