Thesis title
Biomechanics of the Patellofemoral Joint After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Research overview
Patellofemoral osteoarthritis is a common complication following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), primarily due to biomechanical changes in the knee. Analysing the knee, particularly the patellofemoral joint, after ACLR may provide quantitative information for preventing the onset and progression of knee osteoarthritis. My research involves the development of a new computational model combined with finite element analysis, which can predict alterations in the mechanical loading of the knee after ACLR. This model could provide new information for clinical evaluation, thereby improving medical treatment strategies.
