Thesis title
Experimental study of ice-shelf melting
Research overview
This study addresses parameter determination of the turbulent boundary layer induced by ice-shelf melting plumes in seawater, including flow velocity, temperature, and salinity distributions. It investigates the boundary layer’s thickness, spatial distribution, transition behaviour, microstructure, and eddy dynamics. A rational algorithmic model is developed from integrated experimental results and optimized via coupling with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
