Thesis title
Numerical Study of Turbulent Flow over Riblets under Adverse Pressure Gradients
Research overview
Turbulent drag reduction techniques have gained significant attention in recent years, with riblet surfaces emerging as promising solution for reduced skin friction drag. The proposed study, thus, aims to develop better understanding of simulating complex turbulent flows at high Reynolds number and adverse pressure gradients for various riblet groove geometries over flat plate and subsequently validating its effectiveness for practical application. Direct numerical simulation (DNS) for minimal-span channels will be utilized to assess the drag reduction statistics and the interaction between turbulent boundary layer and riblets under adverse pressure gradient (APG) conditions.
