Thesis title

Musculoskeletal biomechanics and contact analysis of the knee joint for healthy and ACL reconstructed subjects during daily activities.

Research overview

To study knee related problems such as osteoarthritis, ACL injuries, and patellar instability, it is important to understand the biomechanics of the knee joint. The current research looks to simulate the knee joint kinematics and contact forces during daily activities for both healthy people and those who have had an ACL reconstructive surgery. To achieve the results, a combination of subject specific musculoskeletal modelling and finite element analysis will be used.
