Thesis title
Computational Modelling of the Human Hip Joint with Developmental Dysplasia
Research overview
The aim of this project is to identify differences in hip muscle and joint loading in healthy adolescents and those with developmental dysplasia of the hip joint (DDH).
A computer-based musculoskeletal model, implemented in OpenSim and then followed by a detailed model in FEA software, will be used to determine if hip contact force mediates the effects of treatment on pain and hip joint structure.
The results will be analysed to determine differences in hip muscle and joint loading between healthy adolescents and those diagnosed with DDH.
