Thesis title

Atomistic modelling of hydrogen on defect formation and mobility in metals

Research overview

The PhD project focuses on the atomistic modelling of hydrogen with defects in metals. Using molecular dynamics simulations, the formation and mobility of point defects such as vacancies and interstitials as well as grain boundary effects will be investigated. The topic will help to understand how hydrogen affects the microstructure and properties of metallic materials, especially under high-temperature conditions. The simulation results will then be experimentally verified.
