Thesis title

Enhancing Indoor Air Quality through CFD and PIV: Evaluating Airflow in Different Planes and Human Interventions

Research overview

To address concerns related to indoor air quality and the community spread of diseases, this study proposes an in-depth analysis of airflow patterns within indoor spaces using fluid mechanics methodologies. The focus will be on both Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations and experimental analysis through Particle Image Velocimetry. By replicating real-world scenarios in controlled environments, the study aims to better understand how air moves and carries contaminants. The insights gained will help in developing effective strategies to enhance indoor air quality and reduce the risk of airborne disease transmission, contributing to healthier and safer indoor environments.
