Cryogenic Hydrogen Safety

Research overview

Large-scale application of hydrogen requires hydrogen storage in liquid form. The current safety protocol often includes excessive conservatism, which increases the cost and limits the development of hydrogen infrastructure. My PhD is to investigate the fundamental thermodynamics and fluid dynamics of cryogenic hydrogen release and to develop physics-based risk assessment tools for liquid hydrogen application.
