Numerical investigation of Open-ocean convection in the Southern Ocean
Research overview
We aim to study the dynamics of water column in the Southern Ocean during winter. We perform high resolution DNS/LES to understand the impact of small-scale turbulence on winter mixed layer dynamics. We investigate the behaviour of water column under the sea-ice by applying buoyancy and mechanical forcings using our coupled ice-LES simulations.
