Thesis Title

Experimental Study of Inertial Particles in Turbulent Pipe Flows

Research overview

Turbulent pipe flows with inertial particles occur in industrial processes and medical applications. Such particle-laden pipe flows play an important role, for example, in efficient transport of minerals or plaque deposition on arterial wall leading to cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, this work studies the interaction between the particles and the turbulent fluid flow to improve our fundamental understanding of this complex process.
